I enjoyed this recent interview that Rick Beato did with Derek Trucks:
I think Trucks is one of the most inventive and interesting guitar players of his generation, and it seems like he’s a nice guy as well. I like that he seems to have no pretense about his playing, even though he’s one of the best.
In other Derek Trucks-related news, the Tedeschi Trucks Band are in the midst releasing four new albums this year, known collectively as I Am the Moon. So far, they have released three episodes:
Episode I
Episode II
Episode III

I watched this interview from beginning to end, crying a good part of the time as Derek, Susan and band touch my heart and soul more deeply than anyone I can think of offhand at this moment.
Music has been the best part of my life since age 5 or so, and I have many moods to fit many genres. TTB manages to cover every single emotion I have, and I love them for it.
Thank you, Rick Beato, for nailing Derek for an hourlong interview, asking some of the best questions I could ever think of to ask him! He is remarkable as a player, a fan of great musicians from all eras/styles, and as a down-to-earth, authentic human being who I’ve enjoyed seeing/meeting many times, though not lately, sadly.
As for I Am The Moon, there are no words to describe the feelings it pulls out of my broken yet healing heart. I love the entire concept of it, including the 4-part release and Derek and Company’s reasoning behind that. It is a superb work of art that I listen to as intended.
Derek is my genius, my idol, and my inspiration to go on living in these troubled times. Susan and the entire band (past and present) serve me equally well. I only hope that I live to see them “live” yet again as I have so many times before. May they all shine on!

Thanks for your comment, CeeCee. I agree that Rick conducted a great interview with Derek. Few guitarists have the touch, taste, and feel that Derek does, and it’s no surprise how thoughtful he is about everything.
