Strymon make a very popular line of effects, such as the TimeLine, the Mobius, and the Big Sky, among others. These are beautifully designed and well-thought-out effects pedals. They are digital and are considered to have some of the best algorithms in the market.
However, to run the DSPs that run the algorithms, Strymon pedals generally require a lot of current. For example, I have a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power II Plus power supply, which has eight isolated power outputs, only two of which are rated for enough current to run a Strymon pedal.
Enter Strymon to solve this problem. They have created two new power supplies, the Zuma and the Ojai, each of which with high-current isolated outputs to run nine or five Strymon pedals, respectively.
The Zuma:
Zuma is the highest horsepower, most technologically advanced effects pedal power supply of its kind. Zuma offers nine high-current, individually isolated, ultra-low-noise outputs—each with its own dedicated regulator and custom transformer. Designed to meet the needs of today’s players, each output provides a staggering 500mA of current.
Zuma’s dual-stage topology, pre-regulated outputs, optically isolated feedback, and advanced multistage filtering result in a power supply that allows your pedals to achieve their highest possible dynamic range.
The Ojai:
Power your pedals with Ojai—the highest horsepower, most technologically advanced effects pedal power supply of its size. Ojai delivers clean, rock-steady power to your effects pedals in a lightweight and expandable package, giving you flexibility and room to grow.
You get five high-current, individually isolated, ultra-low-noise outputs—each with its own dedicated regulator and custom transformer. Each output provides a massive 500mA of current.
Ojai’s dual-stage topology, pre-regulated outputs, optically isolated feedback, and advanced multistage filtering result in a power supply that allows your pedals to achieve their highest possible dynamic range.
Both the Ojai and the Zuma will be available starting this Spring.
