Anthony Stauffer, of StevieSnacks fame, has recently relaunched his site as Texas Blues Alley. If you’ve visited this site before, you probably already know that I’m a big fan of Anthony’s lessons, and it sounds like this new direction will allow him to more easily create lessons that complement his Stevie Ray Vaughan lessons. I’m excited to hear about Anthony’s new direction, and I’m looking forward to seeing what new lessons he comes up with.
To celebrate the launch of the site, Anthony is giving away a pile of stuff, including pedals, pickups, free lessons, and more. Check out the giveaway page to see a full list of the prizes and to sign up. You have until May 9th to enter.

Hi Anthony ,
I just wanted to thank you for all the videos and free lessons . Your playing is out of this world and I really enjoy listening to you .
I do have a question ? Have you played a Jimmie Vaughan Strat and what are thoughts on it for blues playing ? I am considering one in the near future and all the reviews I’ve read are very positive .
Thanks for sharing your music and your time with us aspiring blues players .

Hey John,
I’m not Anthony, but I can comment on the Jimmie Vaughan Strat. I used to own one and really liked the neck on it. I tend to prefer rosewood fretboards, but I found the Jimmie Vaughan Strat’s maple fretboard to be pretty comfortable. These Strats can be found very reasonably priced used, so I would try to find a used one if you can.
