I’ve watched this B.B. King video live from Sing Sing Prison numerous times, and it gets me every time. It has elements of everything that has made B.B. so great for so long: his charisma, his singing, and his guitar playing. It has everything in about five and a half minutes.

Years ago, B.B. King’s “Live at Cook County jail” (vinyl album) became the benchmark for which I was to define the blues.
I’ve attended only one of his concerts but it turned out to be a very special appearance. His band was delayed and couldn’t join-up with him. So, instead of cancelling the concert, B.B. played solo. He was gracious, soulful and Lucille did some serious crying between bluesy vocals. No one was disappointed.
The video was a wonderful reminder was what a great bluesman B.B. is. Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed the video, Ed. Sadly, it looks like YouTube or the owner have changed the terms on the video, and it’s no longer available in the U.S.
