I first heard of Austin-based guitarist Jake Andrews when he released his album Time to Burn in the late 90s. He released a second self-titled album a few years later, and then he kind of dropped off my radar. He’s still been creating music though and has recently uploaded an instrumental track to SoundCloud called “Solid” featuring Eric Johnson. I’ve embedded the track below. Enjoy!

Jake has a real ear for a great lead. He is also a great guy. I began taking lessons about a year and a half ago with him. Absolutely amazing to be able to plug in to a vintage amp and work through pieces with him. Solid, from the last album is a collaboration with Eric Johnson. That, and Living in the Grave are two of my favorites off the current release.
